FREE Special Needs Seminar - Mar 7, 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday 20th of February 2013

March 7 from 6:30 - 8 p.m., join us as Kerri L. Klein and Bernard A. Poskus of the law firm of Poskus, Caton & Klein, P.C. address some of the legal and financial challenges as well as provide parents and caregivers with useable information regarding these difficult issues.

The presentation will discuss three major areas:

  1. The usage of special needs trusts and the difficult decision of who will make decisions for the special needs person after the parents are no longer available.
  2. The steps that may be desired or required when a special needs child turns 18 years old.
  3. The basic eligibility standards for qualifying for disability benefits through the Social Security Administration, including Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and qualification for Medicaid from the State of Colorado. With respect to Medicaid benefits, they will also discuss how to administer trusts benefiting the special needs person, and how to shelter that person's assets from both SSI and Medicaid eligibility consideration, to the extent possible.

The seminar will be held at Firefly Autism (2695 S Jersey Street, Denver CO 80222) - to RSVP call 303-759-1192 or email info@fireflyautism.org. Click here for additional details.
